Ok so for those of you who don’t understand the previous Bruno quote was because I finally saw it… thank god… I enjoyed it as expected and specifically liked when he was in Jerusalem and being chased by the dosim (religious Jews) because all of the people in the theater were cheering him on, ya gotta love Israel
Anyway so yes this was Wednesday night and I ventured down to Beer...
The rise of club music, the fall of apartheid - coincidence or not?

WARNING!!! stop reading now unless you want to...
So it seems necessary I explain to you the most hilarious part of my trip thus far. I’ve now been in Israel for about three weeks so if you know me well you know it was obviously time for a bikini wax. So I asked the woman I’m living with if she could suggest someone and I showed up to the place she suggested. It was in the bus station in Kiryat Gat and I walk in and standing there is...
A Week In Review
Sunday… pool day at camp, but let me tell you a little bit about this pool. It’s one quarter dead bugs, two quarters chlorine, and one quarter pee… it’s pretty much the most disgusting thing I’ve ever been in and some of the kids won’t even swim in it because they can see how gross it is. Yet I’m required to swim with them, funny how that works. I’m...
sorry
i’m sorry for being lame about this blog but tonight I’ll write a better one I swear but a few short things…
1. if you are seeing harry potter tonight, i’m green with envy, it doesn’t get released here until thursday
2. I’m pretty sure I will never stop sweating ever…
3. mundi and nettie are back in the country so everyone wish them a welcome home and...
ok so I have funnier things to tell you now…
1. We had to ask the director to remind the school staff (of the school we are using) to put soap in the bathrooms of the camp. Well the response was “schools in Israel don’t have soap in the bathroom” and this just baffled not only me but all of the americans…no soap in an elementary school? So then we started kind of...
the most boring post in the world... part 1
Sorry for the lack of blogging it’s been REAL busy but all good things!
Camp is up and running and starting to go a lot smoother than before… My group is the biggest one in the camp haha because the two boys who got moved to another group got brought back because they behaved! oh well they are all good kids.
I’m trying very hard right now to remember what I’ve done and...
achomreem balagon b'engleet???
Things I learned today…
you know that attitude Israelis have where they can come off as rude, disrespectful, and pushy if you don’t understand them…well I learned it starts at a very young age haha
I had my first day of camp today and hebrew has the perfect word for how the day went “balagon” (chaos). My group has about 18 people in it with 10 eleven year old boys...
Tel Aviv and Ra'anana
Well!!! it has been quite the weekend!!!
Let me begin with telling you a short yet very typical Israeli story… I took the train Thursday to Tel Aviv with one of the Israeli counselors Noa. It was Thursday afternoon so the train was packed because most soldiers travel on this day. Anyway Noa and I are on the train just chatting away when an older man turns to us and says “You know it...
the 12 hour day
Shalom Culam,
I’m writing right now only because I don’t want to be lazy about this but let me begin this post by saying I’m fucking tired… Today we worked from 9 am to 9 pm working on making all of the activities we planned the day before. The day consisted of creating hundreds of flash cards, making games, making sure everything was together and organized. OY! It...

Sorry for my lack of writing it has been such a busy two days!!! To begin I started work yesterday and we had orientation where I met and learned about everyone I’m working with this summer. We really have a great group, I swear these Israelis speak better English than I do… (and spell better too)… then last night we went to one of their houses hung around, ate way to much, and...
So today I got a little sunburnt...
well let me open with my jet lag is so bad I don’t think I’ve eaten a meal yet, I’m never hungry…but no worries I’m not going ano, it will hopefully come back soon!!!
Now to explain the day I woke up really early to find Hila sitting at the foot of my bed staring at me and tickling my foot. When she saw me open my eyes she immediately started rambling about...
the bitch is back!
It seems only appropriate that I start this blog since apparently it is the “thing” to do when traveling abroad and who am I to deny myself of my natural urge to conform… For those who are unaware I will be in israel for the next 6 weeks being a day camp counselor in a city called Kiryat Gat. I arrived here about 9 hours ago, got to my host family’s house where I met the...
